In 2016, Musthafa P A embarked on a mission to restore a degraded piece of mining land tucked away in a Kerala village, transforming it into a lush green paradise that he named Greenara. In a span of six years, the farm turned out to be a home to thousands of plants, butterflies, birds and eight flowing water sources which led to the project later becoming a model for degraded lands anywhere else that can be turned back to forests. Musthafa’s work serves today as a case study for tropical landscaping.
Good news is we can make room for you if you have up your mind. Bask in a truly head to toe multi sensory treat wrapped in green.
Tropical Walk is a one day walking tour around Greenara with its Founder and Landscapist Musthafa PA, exploring tropical plants, Miyawaki Technique, Permaculture and other farming practices. Every weekend here brings new faces and new insights to us and we don't hesitate to share our latest discoveries from the landscaping experiments tried at the farm. The routine here is all about trial and error, figuring out what works and what doesn't and the farm never fails to surprise us with something new everyday. Greenara is still a work in progress, a dream taking shape under the relentless efforts of so many people!
